THRIVE CONFERENCE

Thrive is back for its fourth year. At the Thrive, we gather leaders throughout New Life to be refreshed and encouraged with God’s vision for His Church, and equipped to be an even better leader wherever God has placed them on mission, to help them Thrive. It is a Saturday morning that will leave you energized and ready to get after the serious business of shepherding people toward full devotion to Jesus Christ. Plus, it’s a ton of fun. You may be thinking, “yeah, yeah… but what’s going to happen at this thing?” Great question! Here’s what to expect:
  • Main Stage Sessions: We want main stage sessions to be like rocket fuel for you.  We’ll inspire you with God’s unstoppable vision for His Church and provide you with easily transferable principles that can make you a more effective leader in any group or ministry team.
  • Breakout Sessions: We will offer two different breakout sessions where you can learn best practices for specific ministry areas or key topics. With six different breakouts to choose from, no matter your role, there will be breakout sessions for you to learn and grow.
"The breakouts especially were helpful and the materials that were given out were useful"

"Getting together to talk with other leaders was awesome"

"I walked away feeling refreshed"

Breakout Session 1
  1. Fill Up First with Jeanie Cormier
Every leader helps to create environments where people grow relationally and in their faith. Yet,
each leader needs to be growing in their everyday walk with Jesus as well. In this breakout, you
will learn about how to develop healthy spiritual practices that promote growth and gain
practical tips on how to lead yourself and others.
  2. Disaster Relief with John and Angel Beeson
Everyone experiences challenges in life. In times of crisis, we need support. When others are
suffering, we can offer support. Because group leaders are in relationship with group
participants, they have an unprecedented opportunity to help their group provide the kind of
support that is needed at just the right time.
  3. Helping You Facilitate a Group Discussion which leads to Spiritual Transformation with Kim Parrish
This breakout session will help us learn how to teach from a new perspective, how to ask good questions and engage everyone at the table. The purpose of facilitating a group is for everyone to grow and learn from the group.  Learn how to ask questions and present your material in a way that helps everyone grow.
Breakout Session 2
  1. Engaging Students to talk about Spiritual Things with Tex Rule & Greg Lavine
Whether we are a leader in our children / student ministries or a parent, we all know how
challenging leading children and teenagers can be. Pastor Greg & Tex sit down and talk
through practical steps for ways in which we can engage, talk with, and create wins in our
    children’s and teenagers’ life.
  2. Developing Others with Zach Imboden
How can you, as a leader, identify and develop other leaders? This breakout is a three-step
process to help you find leaders around you. It will focus on how to identify, develop, and
    launch future leaders.
  3. Sharing Your Story with Bill Smith
Everyone loves a good story. They draw us in, touch our hearts, and compel us to action. In this
session, you'll learn how to lead people to Christ by connecting your life's story to God's story
and the stories of people around you. Understanding these three stories and how they connect
will help you build relationships, be a more effective leader, and help group members take their
next steps in being lifelong followers of Christ.
